After experiencing the social and spatial constellations of Occupy, it seems that academic interests were intermingled with activist aims. It is not the case that activists have been living in rather “natural,” established social contexts, but they have been experimenting and constructing these spaces and social formations themselves. From this perspective, it would be a misconception to understand the socio spatial settings of Occupy as “fields” which can be localized and surveyed.
